Insult to Asian Culture, The Worst American Trying to Be Asian Cartoons EVER

I know America doesn’t mean it, but quite frequently, we are making cartoons that unconsciously insult asian culture. Some are just trying to be like anime but they fail so miserably that it’s putting real anime down. So here is an awards list for the Worst American Trying to Be Asian Shows (WATBAS)

8. We’re going to start light, with a show that most would disagree. But there’s no hiding that Avatar: The Last Airbender is trying to be anime. As for art style though, I say kudos, it actually sort of looks like anime! Wow. Still, it’s trying a little too hard, for an american action show, it’s too wannabe for my tastes. But not the worst thing ever.

7. For number seven, I’ve chosen Samurai Jack. It’s hard to believe, even for myself as I sort of grew up with this cartoon and I still like it occasionally. I’m not sure if they’re trying to do anime or just get a take on samurai’s. Either way, some things they do are a little annoying. I am still finding it hard to say bad things about it though so I’ll stop here.

6. Next on the list is Xiaolin Showdown, it came on Kids WB so much, I got so sick of it. They’re trying to mix cultures while still retaining the Asian qualities, annoying. Not to mention how ugly the animation is. The plot is boring and often repetitive. That’s all I have to say on that junk.

5. I’m thinking this should go a little lower in the countdown because this one was scary, and I’m referring to Super Duper Sumos. These fighters use their… butts to fight? C’mon, give the real sumo wrestlers some respect (Not saying I’m a fan though). Needless to say, This show didn’t last long.

4. American Dragon: Jake Long is next. American and Dragon are two words that don’t belong together, not in this case. Do I really have to say why? The title is all it takes, honestly. Sucks more that the Disney Channel had it, that’s a scary, scary, channel.

3. Sushi Pack, obviously trying really hard, just with the title. I think they figure kids will take anything slightly related to Japanese culture these days. Does anyone honestly enjoy this show? The characters are truly insulting. Why do you want to insult Asia so badly, America?!

2. You have to figure it can’t get much worse than Kappa Mikey, a wanna-be Japanaese show with the lamest humor ever. They even try to make some of the characters look like anime, but lemme tell ya, they failed… They try to style it like Japanese anime, big heads, etc., but it’s just embarrassing. I can’t believe they even dared to air this show…

1.  And finally, the worst of them all, Chop Socky Chooks. This is a newer Cartoon Network show and I’m praying to god it’ll be cancelled soon. This show is a bad influence on kids, it’s giving them a horrible idea about Asian culture. The main characters are supposed to be chickens and the main bad guy is… Dr. Wasabi? Not only is it a wanna-be show, it’s completely unoriginal. And have you seen the animation? It’s like some sort of ugly 3-D Computer Generated thing. For the sake of your innocence, NEVER watch this show.

Congrats, Chop Socky Chooks, here’s your prize, poop.gif poop image by OmiMonty55, Yay you for being the worst American trying to be Asian Cartoon of all time.

I hope you enjoyed the list, you probably disagreed with some but that’s okay, this is my opinion remember. And I’m not saying all anime is perfect and there’s nothing to make fun of about it because there’s plenty of horrible anime, but that’s not the topic now is it?

-Cuddles.
