What, me writing in this blog?  Pfft, no, definitely not, but recently I have felt like updating every single day.  And guess what, still barely anything anime to update, STILL finishing up Maximum Ride, one book to go!  And then we wait for the next manga volume in October

It’s inching ever closer to that anime drawing contest at the library/Cherry Blossom Festival and I’m not one to get nervous but. . . OH NOEZ I AM NERVOUS!!  And you know what’s worse?  I’m art blocked. . .  The kind of art block where you have ideas but you can’t draw them right, that’s the worst kind of art block, especially before a contest.  I’m hoping it’ll wear away and I’ll learn something new or improve a little before this contest!  Which by the way, I still don’t know what the prize is. . . The karaoke contest offers a trip to Japan. . . I doubt the drawing contest can offer the same though, but I can still hope!  Though if someone else were to win and be able to go to Japan I might have to emo in my room for a long, long time. . .

Speaking of which, my room!  For those of you who don’t know me well (Which is none of you because NO ONE READS THIS BLOG LOL), I like to cover my walls with posters, every last inch must be filled.  And it’s mostly with anime because it’s my life obviously.  Got some new additions recently too, I rediscovered an old Japanese anime magazine that had come with someone Blood+ I got a long time ago and it had all kinds of things that I love now that I didn’t love back then!  An awesome Gurren Lagann picture, a Lovely Complex pic, etc.  Best of all, BACCANO!  I was really thrilled when I saw that, I put it up on my wall first thing and now it’s simply amazing, it was meant to be.  I even put it close to my Blood+ stuff, that’s how much I like it.  I’d show you the amazing pictures but alas, I am too lazy and tired.  Not to mention I have a time limit here.  (You probably wouldn’t have guessed that from the amount I’ve typed already. . .)

Well I guess that means it’s my time to go.  Woah, woah, woah, not like that, not forever!  Just for now because believe it or not I do stuff. . . Sometimes.  I wanna watch another Makoto Shinkai movie for the millionth time dangit!  And I still haven’t seen Voices of a Distant Star -sobs-.

So. . . Fff, how was I gonna start this, how awkward of me. . . Er well, anyways, I just finished the anime series Baccano! yesterday.  And I started it the previous day lulz.  Way to stay on task, me!  It was only 13 episodes anyways.  13 episodes of EPICNESS.  Seriously, this is a flippin’ cool anime.  The first episode bored me to death but then it kept getting better!  It’s one of those animes that shows you a bunch of people’s stories and a bunch of different times and you gotta put them together.  But it’s all based around an incident on a train in the 1930’s. . . Here’s what myanimelist says:

“Baccano is Italian for noise, but Narita translates it as “stupid commotion.” Each of the stories in the series involves several unrelated plots intersecting and crossing each other as events spiral farther and farther out of control. Immortal alchemists, mafia operated speakeasies, and many other elements of pulp fiction mashed together for a world straight out of the movies. Based on a light novel series by Narita Ryougo”

That’s an okay description but there’s more to it obviously.  Just watch and don’t be discouraged by the first episode!  I should also remind you that this is an R rated anime, for violence really, there isn’t any nudity or even anything exactly close to it at all, it’s just gorey at parts.  Lots-o-blood.  But the good news is that the animation quality is top notch!

Just a reminder, if you didn’t know, the second season of Fullmetal Alchemist aired on April 5, 2009, and trust me, it’s ALL over the internet, so you can watch it quite easily.  If you didn’t watch the first anime, don’t worry, you can start this one anyways, it’s NOT a continuation on the first, it’s a new series supposedly based on the manga.  Even if you haven’t read the manga, try the anime, it’ll still make sense.  Fullmetal Alchemist is known for being a very good series.

In other news, I’ve been reading manga like crazy lately, finally got the chance to start going to the library again.  So far I have read Lovely Complex, The Third, St. Lunatic High School, Shakugan no Shana, Nightmare Inspector, Sgt. Frog, and Densha Otoko.  So far, I’ve been pretty happy with what I read, I REALLY enjoyed Love Com, the art style is so pretty!  Ahhh, I’m becoming such a shoujo fan! 

And I recently bought Shinobi Life vol. 2, it was just as wonderful as the first, omg the art style is WINNNN!  I love it to bits.  I want to be able to draw like that mangaka someday. . . The story is also pretty nice, it’s unique.  But the best thing is the art.  I can’t wait until the next volume!

Another longgggg time in between updates (You: What updates) (Me: Yeah. . . I know =v=; )  Someday, it’ll happen thougj, I promise, and this blog might actually get read, yay!  It’s all depending how much effort I put into this, I know . . . Well anyways

1.  PERSONA 4 IS ONE OF THE MOST AWESOME GAMES I HAVE EVER PLAYED

     I loved Persona 3, but Persona 4. . . Oh, dare I say it. . . I-It’s b-better!  THERE!  IT’S BETTER!  Everything is so improved. . . And no Tartarus or whatever. . . ahahaha NO TARTARUS!  Well I only just saved Yukiko, I’ve only had the game for a day. . . I hope it stays as good as it’s been, I’m so addicted!  If you like RPG’s and you like the Persona series or just Shin Megami Tensei himself, I definitely recommend this game, I love it!

2. POKEMON PLATNIUM

     I preordered it yesterday at GameStop happily, with promises of my beloved, handcrafted, fancy-whatever Giratina figure!  Not to mention, I’ve been looking forward to the game mostly of course hehe.  I got my Shaymin from Toys-R-Us and I’m transferring it over to my Platnium the second I get it!  By the way, have you all heard about the video game championships Pokemon.Com announced? >w>

3.  MY JAPANESE WORD COACH

     Hey all you weeaboos and Japanese enthusists. . . Looking for a fun and easy way to learn Japanese?  Well as long as you have a DS and $29.99, you can!  Wow, what an ad. . . No really, my mom kindly bought me this game as a Valentine’s Day present and it’s really great!  It focused on the areas I needed help with (like days, colors, etc.) and provided games that taught me what I needed to know.  I’m still in the learning process, but I’m enjoying it.  Oh, did I mention there’s a phrasebook, dictionary and many other awesome features?  Well, just check it out for yourself!

4. BLOOD+ RELEASES

     ZOMG WHY IS THIS FOURTH?!  Oh, I dunno. . . Well it is. . . Anyways, Blood+ Vol. 5 (the manga) was supposed to be officially out February 18, 2009, yes, that time has passed, yet I still don’t own it. . . Why you ask?  That’s because they were sold out when I went to get mine. . . YES IT’S BOTHERING ME. . .  So I ‘preordered’ one from the next batch. . . I feel so pained >:   Technically I had it before ALL OF YA’LL!  SO HA!  I own it in Japanese >8D HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

5.  ZETSUBOU SHITTAAAA!

      Yes. . . It’s finally here. . . SAYONARA ZETSUBOU SENSEI: THE POWER OF NEGATIVE THINKING!  The manga of course!  I’ve been waiting for this ever since Anime Insider announced it would be made in English. . . I’ve been bugging my mother non-stop “I can’t wait for Zetsubou”, “I’m getting Zetsubou when it comes out”, “I’ve been waiting too long for Zetsubou!”  Haha, so now it’s finally here. . . NOW, YOU GO BUY IT TOO!  I promise you’ll like it, it’s very funny, in that well, dark sort of way. . .

6.  WHAT LIGHT ON YONDER WINDOW BREAKS?

      Romeo X Juliet.  IT IS AN ANIME (also a very awesomesauce manga).  Based on the famous William Shakespeare play, yes, but not quite the same thing.  The same characters, the same forbidden love concept, but much, MUCH cooler.  It’s been liscensed to be released in English now, I can’t promise it’ll be good, as far as dubs go, but for now I have high hopes.  If you’re curious, read the manga at onemanga.com

7.  THE LIFE OF A NINJA

     AKA, Shinobi Life!  A very cute manga that at first, I was skeptical to read, because well, it looks like something your average, ever-loved weeaboo would read, I mean, it’s got Shinobi in the title “OMG NARUTOOO!!111! KAWAII DESU!!11″, ugh, you disgust me =_= .  A-A-ANYWAYS.  I read it.  I went ahead and read it.  Wow, I loved it!  The art is so. . . pretty!!  After reading it, I felt I had to own it. . . I enjoy owning manga with the prettiest art styles. . . So now I do. .  But no, I’m not just saying this because I felt like it, this happened a while ago, actually, I bring this up because VOLUME 2 IS OUT NEXT MONTH!  I didn’t think the story COULD continue but. . . Ah well, nevertheless, I’m looking forward to it :3

8. ANGELA AKI.  ANSWER.  FEBRUARY 25, 2009.

     Angela Aki is my absolute favorite artist, out of both Japanese and English.  Her music is just too amazing for words.  It’s only right I mention her fabulous new album here in my no-one-reads blog!  Point is, her past albums have all been incredible so I’m sure Answer will be too. . . I’m working on buying it ASAP but imports aren’t cheap and all. . .

Well, my mind is kind of off this night, so instead of bringing you news, I’m just going to tell you about some anime I’ve been viewing lately.

First off, Jigoku Shoujo (Or in English, Hell Girl)

It’s been quite great so far, some people don’t really like the repetition of it, but I do.  Enma Ai is so cool, how could you get tired of her sending people to Hell?  It’s like a different story everytime, I like it.  I’ve heard the plot starts developing soon, I’m around episode 11-12, I intend to keep watching once I can find them online again!  Beautiful art too!

Next, Ergo Proxy

I found this anime through a little thingy I got with the last issue of Anime Insider and boy am I glad I started watching it!  This series is just AMAZING!  I’m only on episode 8 and I LOVE it!  If you’re looking for a cool, dark anime, this one is recommended.  Can’t wait to watch more ^-^

Finally, Witch Hunter Robin.

I’ve heard about this one in the past and I finally decided to give it a try.  I’m only on episode 2 because I literally mean I JUST started it.  But I liked it, don’t LOVE it yet, but I think I could.  You can’t judge an anime by the first few episodes. . . And they’re not bad, just a little slow, but it’ll pick up, I’m confident of that.  The art style is nice and the english dub is WIN because of Kari Wahlgren and Crispin Freeman <3
